UNIPORT Admission Requirements 2020/2021: UTME & Direct Entry
Admission requirements is very essential when talking about getting admission into any Instit ution, all Institution have their own admission requirements. I will show you UNIPORT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR UTME CANDIDATES.
NOTE: Candidates that do not meet up with the requirements for admission into UNIPORT, may not be offered admission into the university.

BRIEF HISTORY OF UNIPORT
University of Portharcourt, also known as Uniport was established in 1975. It is a Federal university with approximately 50,000 students. University of Portharcourt was formerly known as University College. It is one of the best Federal Universities in Nigeria and its Petroleum Engineers come out with a badge of pride.
Uniport is located in Rivers state, Portharcourt. It would also interest you to know that the school is blessed with many great alumni. The former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan , Rotimi Amaechi and so many other notable people are graduates of Uniport.
UNIPORT Admission Requirements For UTME Candidates
- Candidate must score 180 and above in UTME/JAMB.
- The candidate must be over 16 years of age in the year of admission (Some student swear an affidavit just to increase their ages)
- Candidates must possess at least 5 credit passes in relevant subjects which must include English Language and mathematics at GCE O’Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents at not more than 2 sittings.
- Candidates with Teachers Grade II (TC II) with passes at credit or merit levels in conjunction with credit passes in relevant subjects at GCE, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents may be considered. No subject may be counted at both TC II and GCE O/Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents.
- Candidate must also take part in the school post UTME Screening.
UNIPORT Admission requirements for Direct Entry
- Candidate must partake in UTME and make the institution their first choice and POST UTME screening with the accurate combination of subjects.
- Consistency in name will not be acceptable to the University and may lead to disqualification of affected candidates. Candidates’ names on their O’Level and A’ level/Diploma/NCE/Degree Results, JAMB Slips and other registration documents must be the same.
- Candidates must be at least sixteen (16) years of age by October, 2019 to be eligible for the Admission.
- Candidates must apply within the Registration period.
You can decide to use more than one O’level result for admission
NOTE: UNIPORT is not going to offer you to candidates that did not meet all the requirements for admission.
