No, JAMB Mock is not compulsory. Candidates who are interested in taking the mock exam should indicate their interest during registration if they register early enough.

Is JAMB mock exam free? / How Much is JAMB Mock Exam?
Non-JAMB CBT Centres are allowed to collect a separate Seven Hundred Naira (700) for mock exam from only interested candidates via their bank accounts after the candidate has received notification of the centre(s).
After the notice of designated centres for the mock examination, the candidate must pay for the mock examination at the centre to which he or she is assigned. No organization or body is allowed to conduct a mock exam on behalf of JAMB.
NB: Do not pay for mock until you have been assigned to a CBT center by JAMB.
