The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) of Owerri zone said that the ongoing strike will not be called off and will continue until the Federal Government meets its demands.
The Union also said that the current strike will be the last to embarked on.
This was made known on Tuesday, while speaking at a press briefing at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Uzo Onyibinama The Coordinator, ASUU Owerri zone.
ASUU Owerri zone comprised, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Imo State University, Owerri, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State, and Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Imo State.
His statement:
We are tired of strikes, this is the last of the strikes. That is why we are not going to call it off until all our demands are met. We don’t want after this strike, tomorrow we will embark on another strike. We are tired of such hide-and-seek game. This is the last and the end.”
