Obafemi Awolowo university was established in 1961 as a tool for ensuring growth and development in the education sector of Nigeria. As a matter of fact, OAU is very popular.

The institution is very competitive. Currently, It is among the top 5 best universities in Nigeria.

Conversely, gaining admission into OAU is not very easy. When compared with some state and federal universities in Nigeria, OAU is one of the universities with a very strict admission requirements.

The university always give admission to students that meet all her requirements for admission.

1. Candidates must possess a minimum Credit grade in not less 5 subjects (English Language and Mathematics inclusive) at one sitting or 6 subjects at two sittings.
2. UTME candidates must score at least, 200 in the just concluded JAMB UTME examination.
3. Candidates must make the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University their first choice of institution in JAMB. OAU does not accept second choice candidates for admission.
4. Candidates must participate in OAU screening and must pass the test excellently well.
5. Candidates are expected to choose the correct subject combination for their courses to be considered for admission.

1. Direct entry candidates must make Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) their first choice of institution.
2. Direct entry candidates must possess a minimum of five O’level credits obtained at not more than two sittings in subjects relevant to their proposed courses.
3. Candidates should have a minimum of Lower Credit in Diploma or Merit grade in NCE from a recognized tertiary institution and have five relevant O’ level credits (including Mathematics and English language).
4. Direct entry candidates are expected to purchase and apply through JAMB direct entry form.

Note: OAU Direct Entry aspirants will be given admission into 200 Level instantly into any faculty in Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
