On Thursday, March 7, more than 260,000 candidates participated in this year’s Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Mock UTME) across 793 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide. The Registrar/Chief Executive of JAMB, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, revealed this information after overseeing the mock exam at various centers in Abuja.
Oloyede expressed satisfaction with the smooth execution of the exercise across the country and highlighted that the purpose of the exam was to assess JAMB’s readiness for the main UTME, scheduled to commence on Friday, April 19, 2024.
Oloyede shared that the exam body successfully conducted police recruitment exams on Wednesday. Despite a few incidents in about four centers during the Mock-UTME, he assured that they would be resolved.

He mentioned overseeing recruitment for the Police Service Commission in 411 centers nationwide before the Mock-UTME in 793 centers. Currently, there are minor issues in three or four places, but efforts are being made to address them. Oloyede expressed overall satisfaction with the ongoing process and mentioned that 1.98 million candidates registered for the main 2024 UTME, with over 260,000 participating in the mock exam.

Oloyede disclosed that the Mock-UTME results would be released either this evening or tomorrow which is Friday.
JAMB’s ICT consultant, Damilola Bamiro, emphasized that the examination body maintains constant communication with all participating centers through the JAMB Situation Room. This real-time interaction facilitates swift resolution of any issues that may arise during the exam.
