FG and ASUU On The Verge Of Agreement as FG Offers N65bn
The meeting between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Friday ends up to be fruitful after the Federal Government offers to pay N65bn To ASUU For Earned Allowances, Revitalisation Fund.
Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, made the proposal on behalf of the government. This was disclosed in a press briefing after the meeting on Friday in Abuja.
Dr Chris Ngige said that the decision was made to impasse with ASUU, the sum of N15 billion from the amount offered by the government would be for more funds to revitalise the universities.
While speaking, he said that the fund was in addition to the N20 billion paid earlier, making it a total of N35 billion committed as revitalisation fund by the government.
