JAMB Mock 2022: Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), reported one centre was delisted from participation in the 2022 UTME examination due to a system malfunction, just as 175,000 applicants sat for the mock exam.
Oloyede said the examination was conducted admirably and satisfactorily in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday, monitored by Edustuff.
For allegedly breaking the requirement for the conduct of an effective examination, the registrar designated the center as Brain Point Computer Based Centre (CBT) at Oko-Oba in Lagos.
“I have done sample inspection in Lagos and Ogun. The turn-out was impressive and we are satisfied with the level of performance.
“In the process, a centre, Brain Point CBT centre in Oko-Oba, Lagos State which could not sustain their generator set is automatically delisted.
“I have given an instruction that the candidates in this should be refunded their full money,” he said.
Oloyede stated that CBT centers were now authorized to take up to N1,000 from candidates instead of the previous N700, and that they had to give it their all throughout the exam.
He urged various tertiary institutions to maintain their facilities, claiming that some of them were inadequate and needed to be upgraded.
He did, however, express pleasure with the examinations in all of the federation’s states, saying he had received reports of a well-conducted examination from officials on the ground across the country.
