JSS 3 and SSS 2 Students Only Are To Resume On September 21- The Lagos State Government gives new information on school resumption on Sunday, the update was given in a statement by Mr Kayode Abayomi, The Head, Public Affairs, Lagos State Ministry of Education from an announcement by The Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo.
JSS 3 and SSS 2 Students Only Are To Resume On September 21 – Lagos State
It was said that the reopening of schools in the state will be in phases which starts with Public schools and it will help the public schools to meet the rules and safety protocols of Covid-19.
She said:
“This phased approach to opening will enable public schools to meet COVID-19 social distance rules and safety protocols and will help us watch the behaviour of the pandemic as we gradually open up our schools.
Therefore it was made known that only the public schools students of JSS 3 and SSS 2 students will resume school on Monday, 21st September, 2020.
“The present JSS 3 and SSS 2 students in public schools in the State are to resume classes from Monday, 21st of September, 2020.
He also said the resumption of the JSS 3 is to help them in preparing for their examination which is BECE.

“The resumption will permit the present JSS 3 students who are already in an exit class to revise and get adequately prepared for their forthcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination organised by the Lagos State Examination Board and scheduled between Tuesday, 6th and Monday, 12th of October, 2020.
She also said that the private school owners can follow the resumption procedure announced for the public schools in the state, and they should ensure the safety of the children and staff.

“The resumption will also afford the present SSS 2 students an opportunity to prepare effectively for their transition to SSS 3. The scheduled dates and venues for Entrance Examination into Lagos State Model Colleges will soon be announced by the State Examination Board,” the statement read in part.
However she made it known that the resumption date for other classes will be communicated in due course.
