The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced on Friday the release of the results for the first Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for private candidates, 2024 series.
The examination took place from Wednesday, January 31, to Saturday, February 17, 2024. A total of 8,139 candidates participated in the examination across 140 CBT centres nationwide.

In a statement signed by Moyosola Adesina, Acting Head of the Public Affairs Unit, WAEC’s Nigeria Office Head, Amos Dangut, disclosed that out of the total candidates, 3,862 (47.45%) were male, and 4,277 (52.55%) were female.
The statement further highlighted that among the candidates, 21 had varying degrees of special needs, including nine with visual impairment, two with impaired hearing, and two albinos.
Thirty percent of candidates who sat the first-ever Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB- WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024–First Series obtained credits in five subjects, including English and Mathematics.
