How to Register for JAMB 2026, check JAMB closing date, mock and exam date, JAMB novel for 2026 and more: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the sale of application forms for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) admissions into Nigerian tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 academic session, including designated foreign centres.
This guide explains everything candidates need to know about the 2026 JAMB registration, including eligibility, fees, registration dates, requirements, step-by-step registration process, exam dates, and important rules candidates must not violate.
Who Is Eligible to Apply for JAMB 2026?
Age Requirement
- Candidates must be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026 to be eligible.
- Candidates below 16 years may only be considered after an intensive evaluation and must score not less than 80% in:
- UTME
- A-Level
- PUTME
- SSCE
Exceptional candidate assessment
- Their UTME result will be released only after full evaluation.
Important Biodata Rules (NIMC-Linked)
- Once a candidate completes 2026 JAMB registration using NIMC data, no biodata change will be allowed.
- Updated NIMC records can only reflect on JAMB profiles through an official re-query process (TEMPL/QURING 2026).
- Any replaced data will appear as a footnote on the candidate’s profile.
JAMB 2026 Registration Fees & e-PIN Categories
JAMB operates a 100% cashless system. Candidates must select the correct e-PIN type before payment. No refunds will be made.

- Direct Entry (DE): ₦5,700
- UTME without Mock: ₦7,200
- UTME with Mock: ₦8,700

JAMB 2026 Registration Dates
UTME Registration
- e-PIN Sales: Monday, 19 January – 26 February 2026
- UTME Registration: Monday, 26 January – Saturday, 28 February 2026
Candidates must have a valid personal email address before registration.
Direct Entry (DE) Registration
- DE e-PIN Sales & Application: Monday, 2 March – Saturday, 25 April 2026
- Submission Location: JAMB State & Zonal Offices only
Biometrics, Image Capture & Anti-Impersonation Rules
- All ten (10) fingers must be captured correctly.
- Multiple NIN usage, impersonation, or double registration is a serious offence and attracts severe sanctions.
- Only candidates with successful biometric verification will be allowed into the exam hall.
UTME & Direct Entry Entry Requirements
UTME (O’Level / ND / NCE)
- Five (5) credit passes including English Language
- Not more than two sittings
- Mathematics is compulsory for Science, Technology, and Social Science courses
Direct Entry (DE)
- Five O’Level credits plus A-Level or equivalent qualifications
- Accepted qualifications include:
- IJMB, JUPEB, NABTEB
- NCE, ND, HND
- University Diploma / Degree
- Cambridge A-Level
- International Baccalaureate (Foreign entries)
DE candidates must pre-verify their qualifications before completing registration.
Awaiting Result candidates are NOT allowed to register for DE.
How to Register for JAMB 2026
Step 1: Create Your JAMB Profile (Profile Code)
- Use one personal phone number only
- Send SMS, e.g NIN 00123456789 to 55019 or 66019
- You will receive a 10-digit Profile Code
- The same number must be used throughout registration.
Step 2: Buy JAMB e-PIN
Present your Profile Code at:
- Banks
- POS outlets
- MMOs / MFBs
- NIPOST
- e-PIN is sent directly to your phone via SMS
Step 3: Complete Registration at an Accredited CBT Centre
- Present Profile Code + e-PIN
- Biometric capture (10 fingers) and live photograph
- Review all entries carefully
- Print JAMB Registration Slip
Group or school-based registrations are not allowed.

Candidates will only be posted to exam towns selected during registration.
Foreign Centres for JAMB 2026
JAMB registration and exams will be conducted in:
- London, Jeddah, Johannesburg
- Accra, Abidjan, Cotonou
- Banjul, Malabo, Beau, Ouagadougou
Foreign candidates pay $30 (or local equivalent).
Special Provisions for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
- Blind, deaf, wheelchair users, and candidates with special needs receive full refund of registration fees (if qualified).
- Candidates with biometric challenges must register at JAMB offices.
Important Rules Candidates Must Not Ignore
- No multiple registrations
- No cybercafés or unapproved centres
- No proxy access to profiles
- No exam malpractice (criminal offence)
