According to the The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Lagos Zonal office, 95 per cent of candidates for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) met the National Identification Number (NIN) compulsory requirement.JAMB Unfolds candidates with NIN requirement

JAMB Acting Director, Mr Shittu Billiaminu, disclosed this in Lagos on Friday.

Billiaminu told NAN that the board had always worked with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to ensure all candidates who wished to write the examination this year got their NIN.

According to him, JAMB notified that candidates who failed to obtain NIN will not complete JAMB registration successfully and will not write the examination.

Billiaminu said, “However, a mop-up exam which the date is yet to be announced, will be conducted.’’

He further stated that JAMB and the Federal Government received NIN to carry out accurate data and do accurate planning.

Billiaminu advised parents to allow their children to handle JAMB registration themselves to ensure a proper registration process and better understanding between their children and the board.
