Even though the Federal Government pledge to pay the Academic Staff Union Of Universities the amount of N70 billion the union agreed but gave a condition before the will call of the strike.Strike Won't Be Called Off Until Funding Is Implemented - ASUU Gives Condition

This came after the long duration meeting between the Federal Government, represented by Chris Ngige, The Minister of Labour and Employment and the Union which started at 2pm and ended late in the night on Friday.

According to the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU), They said that they will only call of the strike and announce a resumption date after the funding and promises are all well implemented.

This means that the strike continues untill the Federal Government make the payment of N70 billion and fulfil other promises.

With the information made available to Edustuff, the Federal Government promised to settle all the outstanding payments before December 31, 2020.

We hope the Federal Government meet the final condition made by ASUU so that the strike will be called off as soon as possible and the students of the public universities will resume after the 8 months strike.
