There have been different news and controversy on the resumption date for schools in Nigeria, if we can recall the Federal Government had earlier said that they’ll review the January 18 resumption date of schools.
Information provided to Edustuff said the Federal Government has make final decision on the resumption date for schools in a meeting between the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu and Commissioners of Education in Abuja.
The earlier announced resumption date, January 18, 2021 has been finally approved by the Federal Government.
According to The Nation, The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Arc. Sonny Echono, also confirmed it in his statement.
“We have had extensive discussions with state governors, proprietors of schools, labour /staff unions and students’ representatives. And the consensus is that we should reopen all schools.
“But the reopening of schools will be in compliance with COVID-19 protocols, especially strict adherence to non-pharmaceutical procedures, he said.”
